[PER] medical journal fires editor over publication of oral sex survey

CHICAGO (CNN) -- The longtime editor of a prestigious medical journal was fired Friday over the timing of his decision to publish an 8-year-old survey showing 60 percent of college students did not classify oral sex as sex.

AMA Executive Vice President E. Ratcliffe Anderson Jr. told a news conference that Lundberg was fired because "he threatened the historical integrity of JAMA by inappropriately and inexcusably interjecting JAMA into the political debate which has nothing to do with medicine."
